Steffi's passion for teaching actually predates her professional performing career: Steffi became a certified instructor of the Cecchetti Method of Ballet at just 17yoa, and a professional ballet dancer at 23yoa.
EXPERIENCE: With 15yrs experience in coaching classical and contemporary ballet, repertoire, character, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap, and improvisation, Steffi adores teaching ballet to all ages and abilities (professional, pre-professional, or recreational). Recent posts include: Company Teacher and Choreographer (London, England), Master Teacher and Resident Choreographer (Dublin, Ireland), Head of Children's Programs (Chicago), Director/Choreographer and teacher (San Diego, CA).
PHILOSOPHY: Steffi's pedagogical passion stems from a recognition of the teacher's role and impact within the greater community: Excellent, epistemic teaching cultivates curious, compassionate, and intelligent people and artists - but poor pedagogy can permanently discourage people from becoming artists at all. Steffi's pedagogical approach encourages confidence, communication, honesty, and humour to create an inclusive, productive learning environments without sacrificing technical or artistic standards.
